MORRIS — With the playoffs six days away, the Litchfield softball team picked up a key win over Section 3AA foe Morris/Chokio-Alberta on Wednesday.
The Dragons won the regular-season finale, 6-0.
Coming into the game, Litchfield (14-6) was ranked third in the section in QRF (25th overall) and is 6-0 in 3AA play. Morris/CA (18-2) is second in the section in the QRF (15th overall) and is 5-1 in 3AA.
Taylor Draeger, the Dragons’ starting pitcher, got the complete-game shutout. She struck out three with two walks and two hits allowed. On offense, Litchfield was led by Liv Holmgren, who was 2-for-3 with a double, two runs and an RBI.
LaRae Kram and Katelyn Wehking both had hits for the Tigers. Brienna Dybdahl took the loss after giving up five runs (two earned) on seven hits.
