Prep Softball: NLS turns back LPGE, 3-2

NEW LONDON -- New London-Spicer scored three times in the third inning and then hung on to edge Long Prairie-Grey Eagle 3-2 in a West Central North Conference game on Thursday.

NLS scored its runs off three bunt singles, a throwing error, a passed ball and a sacrifice fly.

Taylor Thompsen, Allison Ruter, Jenna Mortiz, Karli Wendlandt and Megan Bergeson each collected a hit for the Wildcats.

Krista Olson earned the win for NLS (10-2, 11-3), throwing four innings and allowing one earned run on three hits. Jessica Rosendahl pitched three innings of relief, giving up no hits and striking out one.
