GRANITE FALLS - Benson/Hancock began the spring 0-8 but now is 3-8, winning three games over a 24-hour span.

Allie Forbord was the winning pitcher in each, the most recent a no-hitter as the BraveOwls swept Yellow Medicine East 10-8 and 7-0 on Friday.

She pitched 4.1 innings of scoreless relief in Game 1. On Thursday, she got the win in the BraveOwls’ 15-11 win over ACGC.

YME put up all eight of its runs in the bottom of the third for a 8-5 lead. B/H scored three in the sixth and two more in the seventh to go ahead.

Shahleah Schmidt went 4-for-4 and scored three runs for the BraveOwls. Megan Odegard had a bases loaded double in the Sting’s third.

OLIVIA - BOLD’s Morgan Flann spun a two-hit shutout, walking four and fanning four in the Warriors’ 3-0 win over Paynesville on Friday.

The Bulldogs’ Brooke Hemmesch was sharp, too, spinning a five-hitter with one walk and eight strikeouts.

This well-played game was scoreless through five innings. In the bottom of the sixth, Lauren Kopel and Paige Larson knocked in runs in the Warriors’ three-run inning.

After back-to-back two-out RBI singles from Morgan Majerus and Kacia Kollman in the top half of the seventh inning to give Minnewaska a 4-0 lead, Sauk Centre got a pair of RBI singles itself in the bottom half but the Mainstreeters couldn’t get any more offense generated, allowing the Lakers to improve to 10-5.

Shanae Suchy doubled and scored on Allyssa Engfer’s single in the first and Carley Stewart slugged a solo home run over the fence in left-center to give Mady Phillips some early support. Phillips got the win after throwing all seven frames, allowing just six hits while striking out four.

The Lakers host Sauk Centre and Wadena-Deer Creek on Monday.

The visiting Dutchmen staked a 12-4 lead after three innings and outhit Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City 12-7 in a six-inning contest.

Katie Moore doubled twice - including one in the fifth that drove in two runs - and singled to pace the Falcons’ seven-hit attack. Jacey Nelson added two hits and Kim Swenson knocked in Moore in the second with a single.

ACGC (3-7, 3-8) hosts Montevideo at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
