GROVE CITY - Hannah Wilner went 3-for-4 and Sydney Larson struck out eight without issuing a walk in a complete-game performance Monday to help Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City topple Yellow Medicine East 8-3 in a West Central South Conference game.
The Falcons (2-0, 6-2) struck for two runs in the first before piling on six more in the fourth after 10 batters visited the plate. Highlighting the frame was a two-run triple from Wilner and Natasha Dallmann’s three-run double.
Larson surrendered six hits and just one earned run as YME scored on a wild pitch and two more times on a couple of ACGC errors.
Dallmann added another double and RBI, while Cassie Struffert doubled to account for YME’s only extra-base hit.
