Prep Softball Roundup: Montevideo scores twice in 7th to stun BOLD

MONTEVIDEO -- Montevideo scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to cap a 12-11 comeback victory over BOLD on Monday in a West Central Conference game.

MONTEVIDEO - Montevideo scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to cap a 12-11 comeback victory over BOLD on Monday in a West Central Conference game.

Olivia Bartz hit a bloop single to drive in Abbey Olsen with the tying run for the Thunder Hawks. Abigail Hacker then followed with a line-drive single to left to bring in Ashley McKee with the winning run.

BOLD led 7-1 in the second inning, but the Thunder Hawks responded with seven runs of their own to take the lead.

The Warriors stretched the margin to three runs but BOLD took the lead with four runs in the final three innings, before Monte won it in its last at-bat.

Hacker was 4-for-5 with two RBIs, Olsen finished with three hits and Breanna Welling drove in three runs with a double and single.

BOLD’s Morgan Flann homered, doubled and drove in two runs, and Allison Krause was 3-for-4 and drove in two runs.

BOLD is at Renville County West today and Montevideo (4-12) is at Morris on Thursday for a doubleheader.

Emily Woods doubled twice and drove in three runs and Laura Hauser and Annie Sandry both drove in a pair as the Wolverines won Game Two of a Camden Conference doubleheader that was postponed on Thursday.

Emily Wrede was 2-for-3 and scored four runs. Maddy Zurn allowed three earned runs and struck out six to pick up the win.

Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg put up crooked numbers in the first four innings to defeat Renville County West in the first game of a Camden Conference doubleheader on Monday.

Tori Everson homered and drove in four runs and Sam Gjerde tripled, doubled and had three RBIs. Taylor Rasmussen had two hits and two RBIs.

RCW’s Stephanie Wersal doubled in two trips.

Gjerde had three hits, including a home run, and she pitched a three-hitter to lead the Saints to a sweep of the Camden Conference doubleheader on Monday.

Andrea Olson was 4-for-4 with a home run, a double and four runs batted in.

Kalli Forsell was 3-for-4 and drove in a run.

Lexi Bakker, Rachel Bakker and Cassidy Fransen had RCW’s hits off Gjerde, who didn’t issue a walk and struck out five.

KMS is at Lac qui Parle Valley on Thursday for another doubleheader that starts at 4:30 p.m.

Emily Kivisto was 3-for-4 with a double, and Caitlin Young tripled and drove in five as Dassel-Cokato crushed the Wildcats on Monday at New London-Spicer High School.

Both teams notched 11 hits, but three NLS pitchers issued a combined 22 walks and two Dassel-Cokato pitchers both gave up eight walks.

The Wildcats’ Lindsay Vagle drove in five runs behind a 4-for-5 performance and Jordin King was 3-for-4 with four RBIs.
