BENSON - Kayla Pring spun a five-inning no-hitter with no walks and was backed by a 13-run first inning as Morris/Chokio-Alberta upended Benson/Hancock 19-0 Thursday in a West Central Conference game.
An error allowed Krista Motzko to reach for Benson/Hancock in the first, but Pring zeroed in and kept the Brave Owls off the bases for the remainder of the game.
The Tigers, who won their 10th straight, batted around twice to start the game, capitalizing on five Benson/Hancock errors and six hits. Pring supplied two RBI hits, Becca Holland slugged a two-run double, and Tracy Meichsner, Abby Daly and Brooke Gillespie added RBIs in the first.
The Tigers finished with 14 hits, led by Holland’s two singles and one double. Gillespie, Pring, Piper Gibson and Lauren Reimers all had two hits.
Benson/Hancock hosts Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg today at 4:30 p.m. and the Tigers are at Minnewaska on Tuesday for a doubleheader.
