Prep Softball: Wildcats edge Dragons

LITCHFIELD -- Espi Austvold was 3-for-3 with a double and RBI and Jordin King was 1-for-4 with two RBI as New London-Spicer knocked off Litchfield 7-6 on Wednesday.

LITCHFIELD - Espi Austvold was 3-for-3 with a double and RBI and Jordin King was 1-for-4 with two RBI as New London-Spicer knocked off Litchfield 7-6 on Wednesday.
The Wildcats used a five-run second inning to distance themselves from the home team.
Kenzie Peterson earned the win for NLS, tossing five innings and striking out six.
Litchfield’s Alisa Godejahn suffered the loss, pitching a complete game, striking out five and allowing five earned runs.
The Dragons only managed three hits, but used 13 NLS walks to make it a close game, scoring three in the bottom of the sixth to come within one.
Both teams play on Friday as New London-Spicer takes on Paynesville to conclude the regular season, while Litchfield challenges Maple Lake in an away game at 4 p.m.
