WILLMAR -- After dropping a Central Lakes Conference tennis match to Alexandria on Friday 5-2, the Willmar Cardinals prepare for postseason.
Facing its toughest run of matches this spring, Willmar (5-7, 9-8) lost its fourth match this week. Willmar fell to Brainerd, St. Cloud Tech and now Alexandria, which will finish 1-2-3 in the CLC.
The team also dropped a match to Mankato West, which will impact seeding this weekend.
Willmar coach Loren Holter expects Willmar to be seeded No. 3 in Section 2AA, behind Hutchinson and Mankato West, which would mean a home match on Tuesday.
Willmar points came at 1- and 2-doubles from Matt Horning-Aaron Sagedahl in three sets and Mitch Fader and Chris Van Doren in straight sets.
