KERKHOVEN -- Katelyn Lottman hammered 12 kills and Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg swept Dawson-Boyd for the second time this season, 25-17, 25-20 and 25-18 Monday to launch Section 3A-North playoff volleyball action.
The Fighting Saints (13-11) will be rewarded with a shot at top-seed Minneota. The Camden Conference champions are rated No. 1 in Class A. The match is set for Friday at Southwest Minnesota State.
Lottman needed 32 hits, with just three errors, for her dozen points. She also had three ace blocks. Brooke Carlson added nine kills. Ellen Johnson smacked 23 serves without an error, three of them for aces. Ashley Carlson charged the Saints' defense with 14 digs.
