Prep volleyball: Panthers quiet Wildcats

NEW LONDON -- Lindsay Vagle, Megan Thorson and Sydney Stone all put away 7 kills for New London-Spicer on Tuesday, but it wasn't enough as Glencoe-Silver Lake swept the Wildcats 25-13, 25-12, 25-19 in a West Central Conference match.

NEW LONDON - Lindsay Vagle, Megan Thorson and Sydney Stone all put away 7 kills for New London-Spicer on Tuesday, but it wasn’t enough as Glencoe-Silver Lake swept the Wildcats 25-13, 25-12, 25-19 in a West Central Conference match.

NLS (5-4, 15-11) is without senior middle hitter Olivia Setterberg for an undetermined time with a severe ankle sprain sustained in a match last week against Litchfield. The Wildcats also haven’t had senior outside hitter Taylor Thunstedt for the majority of the season due to a leg injury.

Vagle also added 2 ace blocks and 5 digs, Stone 15 digs, Thorson 2 ace blocks, and Kelsie Rustad 18 assists.

The Wildcats have nearly a week off before playing at Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted on Monday for a non-conference match.
