MARSHALL - Central Minnesota Christian will play for the Section 3A-North championship after beating Lakeview 25-18, 25-14, 25-20 on Tuesday at Southwest Minnesota State.
The No. 1-seed Bluejays (27-6) will face No. 2-seed Minneota 7:30 p.m. Thursday at SMSU.
Lexie Scott’s 17 kills and three ace blocks paced CMCS, with Erin Orred picking up eight kills and three ace blocks.
Nicole Brouwer collected two ace serves, three kills and 37 set assists, and Natalie Brouwer had three kills and three ace blocks.

Sauk Centre won its 17th straight match by posting its 21st sweep of the season to advance to Thursday’s sub-section final. The Mainstreeters (26-4) will meet West Central Conference rival Melrose (26-5) at 6 p.m. in Sauk Rapids. The teams split two regular-season matches with Sauk Centre winning the most recent meeting, a 3-0 sweep on Oct. 7.
Pacing the Mainstreeters Tuesday was Becca Weir’s 10 kills and six blocks, Jill Klaphake’s 28 assists, five kills and four ace serves, and Morgan Gamradt’s 15 digs, nine kills and two ace serves. Taylor Triebenbach added a team-high 18 digs.

The Warriors will be playing in the sub-section final for the fourth straight year after outlasting the Raiders in three close games. BOLD, the No. 2 seed, will meet top-seeded Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart (20-10) Thursday at 6 p.m. at Mankato West High School.
BOLD is the three-time defending North champion and beat BLHS in four games on Sept. 30.
A balanced attack propelled the Warriors Tuesday, led by Whitney Haney’s 12 kills and Kenna Steffel’s nine kills. Haney also supplied four blocks and three ace serves. Defensively, Kiah Morse had 27 digs and Ashley Schmitz another 26 for BOLD.

The top-seeded Mustangs (20-10) will be looking to avenge two losses to BOLD (14-12) as they upended Mankato Loyola in a sub-section semifinal at Glencoe. BLHS lost earlier in the season and in last year’s sub-section final to BOLD. The two will meet again Thursday at 6 p.m. at Mankato West High School in the North final.
Mariah Paulson with 14 kills and Kiana Johnson and Brittany Schmalz with eight more each guided BLHS Tuesday. Ashley Tintes (22) and Ashley Peterson (15) had a combined 38 assists and Jordyn Feige served up five aces.

The Cardinals pulled off a minor upset as the Section 3AA North’s No. 3 seed, downing the No. 2 Tigers in five games on Tuesday in Morris.
MCA’s Lacee Maanum led the team with 14 kills and Kayla Pring had 12. Karly Fehr finished with 32 set assists.
Redwood Valley plays New London-Spicer for the subsection championship on Thursday in Benson.

No. 3 seed Verndale upset No. 1 seed Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa in Section 5A quarterfinals play on Tuesday. The Pirates, now 23-5 overall, play No. 1 seed Browerville at 6p.m. Thursday in Pierz.
Verndale was never fazed by the Jaguars, as they took the opening set, 25-15. BBE was able to keep the second set within striking distance, but the Pirates had the momentum in their favor and won 25-21. With the season hanging on the net for BBE, they put up their best fight. However, it was Verndale who eked out the set and match 26-24.
The Jaguars finished the season 16-13.
