Prep volleyball roundup: Bluejays knock off No. 8 Panthers

TRACY -- Central Minnesota Christian trailed 10-8 in the fifth match against No. 8 Tracy-Milroy-Balaton but rallied back to beat the Panthers 25-16, 22-25, 25-18, 17-25, 15-12 on Tuesday.

“It was a big win,” Bluejays’ head coach Terrin DeBoer said. “They’re ranked in state (Class A) and it was a big win in the conference.”

CMCS improved to 8-1 in the Camden Conference and 19-4 overall. They took sole possession of second place in the Camden behind Minneota.

Lexi Scott paced the Bluejays with 25 kills, 4 ace serves, 11 blocking aces and 23 digs.

Erin Orred supplied 9 kills and 2 ace blocks, and Mary Covert had 8 kills and 13 digs.
