SAUK RAPIDS - The Willmar volleyball team remained undefeated in the Central Lakes Conference and on the season with a three-set victory over Sauk Rapids on Thursday.
Hitter Dani Rosen was impressive at the net, finishing with 12 kills on 16-of-17 hitting.
Leah Ruter had 9 kills and Riley Grussing missed just one set attempt and had 33 assists.
Emily Chermak served 4 aces and she also had 8 digs. The Cardinals had more than 50 digs in the three-game match.
“We were consistent the entire match for the first time,” said Willmar head coach Traci Grussing. “It was incredible. And defensively, we played really well.”
The Cardinals are 3-0 in the CLC and overall and play in the Shakopee tournament Saturday. They have Rochester Mayo, Shakopee and Buffalo in pool play, which begins at 10 a.m.
