WILLMAR -- Willmar played its best match of the season and swept Little Falls 25-16, 25-19, 25-20 in a Central Lakes Conference match on Thursday.
"I?knew we were capable of playing like this," said Willmar coach Terrin DeBoer. "It was just a matter of time. They've been working hard and you could see in the last match (a 3-2 loss to Sauk Rapids on Tuesday) that we were getting close."
Emily Minnick was nearly unstoppable, pounding down 12 kills from 17 errorless attacks and acing four blocks.
"She really played well tonight," said DeBoer.
Willmar (1-6, 1-9) notched its first win of the season.

"We passed really well and were able to push the middles," said DeBoer. "That's what our goal is each night. We started well and played consistently throughout the night. That's what we need to do in each match now."
Katie Lippert had eight kills, Sarah Kooistra seven, Laura Swart six and Addy Nelsen four. Nelson also had four ace serves, 18 assists and 11 digs. Hailey Vreeman added 17 assists.
Willmar hosts an eight-team tournament Saturday beginning at 8 a.m.
