Baseball: KMS locks up Camden title

Fighting Saints clinch conference title after 13-0 win over LQPV

ROSEN — Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg locked up the Camden Conference championship following a five-inning victory over Lac qui Parle Valley on Saturday.

Jaiden Henjum had a strong day at the plate for the Fighting Saints. The junior was 2-for-3 with a double, four RBIs and two runs scored. Luke Jeseritz finished 2-for-3 with a double, a run and an RBI. Jared Cortez scored twice, finishing 1-for-3 with an RBI. On the mound, Alex Call struck out five and gave up one walk and two hits over three innings to get the win.

Tyler Schickedanz was 1-for-1 for the Eagles and Landon Schirm went 1-for-3. Avery Wittnebel was hit with the loss after tossing the first 2-2/3 innings.

KMS heads to Raymond to play Yellow Medicine East on Monday. LQPV will host Renville County West on Monday.
