Baseball roundup: KMS Fighting Saints blank Ashby Arrows, 9-0

SUNBURG — The Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg baseball team wrapped up the regular season Friday evening and did so impressively.

KMS beat Ashby 9-0 in a non-conference game at Willy Reigstad Field.

Senior left-hander Alex Call led the way, tossing a two-hit shutout. He struck out 19 and walked no one. Torin Olson and Kellen Dahlen managed hits for the Arrows.

Wylee Lottman led the Fighting Saints, going 3-for-4 with a double, a home run, three runs and two RBIs. Call was 2-for-2 with a double, a run, three RBIs and two sacrifice flies.

KMS (17-1) starts Section 6A-South play Tuesday. Seeds have yet to be announced.

Upsala/Swanville Area remained unbeaten with the non-conference victory over Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa late Thursday at Upsala.

For BBE, Ashton Dingmann went 2-for-3 with a double, a walk, a run and a stolen base. Tanner Shelton was 1-for-3 with a home run and Blaine Fischer went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI.
