LITCHFIELD — The New London-Spicer boys basketball team used an 8-0 run to get the cushion it needed to nab a 56-51 Wright County Conference victory over host Litchfield on Tuesday night.
The Dragons tied it at 34-all with 16 minutes, 5 seconds to play in the game before the Wildcats went on a run to go ahead 42-34 with 12:41 left. Litchfield did cut it to a three-point game with 5:25 remaining but couldn’t cut it any closer.
Brycen Christensen had a stellar night for NLS with 18 points on 7 of 14 shooting along with 12 rebounds. Peyton Coahran chipped in with 14 points and Mason Delzer added 10 points in the victory.
The Dragons’ Beau Weseloh had a game-high 21 points and grabbed nine rebounds. Alex Draeger had 11 points and Dom Dietel finished with nine points and 14 rebounds.
NLS heads to Watertown-Mayer for a 7 p.m. game Friday. Litchfield faces Rockford at 7 p.m. Thursday.
