WILLMAR — The Willmar boys basketball team got a much-needed victory Saturday at the Big Red Gym.
The Cardinals beat Little Falls 70-63 to end an eight-game losing streak.
Willmar had five players score in double figures.
Cayden Hansen had 15 points and three assists for the Cards. Blake Schoolmeester added 15 points, eight rebounds and three assists. Abdihamid Abdullahi added 14 points and four steals. Cade Roelofs had 12 points, eight rebounds and two blocked shots. And, Alex Schramm scored 10 points for Willmar.
The Cardinals led 32-21 at halftime of the non-conference game.

Jaxon Janski led the Flyers with 23 points. Beau Thoma had 13 points and five rebounds.
Willmar hosts St. Cloud Tech at 7:15 p.m. Friday.

Luverne prevailed in a match-up of Section 3AA-South opponents at the R/A Facility at Southwest Minnesota State University.
Landon Stock had 17 points and six rebounds to lead Montevideo. Mason Jerve contributed 13 points and Andrew Van Binsbergen added 12 for the Thunder Hawks, who got five assists from Hunter Strand.
Montevideo goes to Morris/Chokio-Alberta at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg stormed past Ortonville in a non-conference game at University of Minnesota-Morris.

The Fighting Saints improved to 13-8 with the victory. Ortonville fell to 1-21.
KMS plays host to Lac qui Parle Valley at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in Kerkhoven.
