REDWOOD FALLS — The Willmar boys hockey team beat Redwood Valley 7-1 on Saturday to break a six-game losing streak.
It was Willmar’s first victory since a 4-3 win over the Morris/Benson Area Storm on Jan. 13 in Willmar.
It also was the second time Willmar has beaten Redwood Valley. Willmar beat Redwood 6-0 on Dec. 18 in Willmar.
Willmar now has a 5-14 record. Redwood Valley falls to 2-17.
Willmar plays the St. Cloud Tech/Apollo Crush in a Central Lakes Conference game at 7:15 p.m. Monday at the St. Cloud Municipal Athletic Center.

Luverne 6, MBA 3The Luverne Cardinals improved their record to 10-9 with the victory over the Morris/Benson Area Storm at Luverne’s Blue Mound Ice Arena.
MBA fell to 11-11-1 with the loss. The Storm had beaten the Cardinals 6-5 on Jan. 28.
The Storm next play Breckenridge-Wahpeton at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Stern Sports Arena in Wahpeton, North Dakota.
