WILLMAR — The Willmar Cardinals got back to their winning ways against Watertown-Mayer with a 2-0 boys soccer victory over the Royals on Saturday at Willmar High School.
“Definitely a good feeling,” Cardinals head coach Jeff Winter said. “I really felt like the boys left everything on the field after a long week.”
Willmar senior goalkeeper Andrew Ziebarth recorded his fifth shutout this season after making 10 saves.
“There was not an easy save in the bunch. He played one of the best games I’ve seen from him,” Winter said. “Andrew had a really good game — and in front of him — the back four had a great effort too. It was an outstanding defensive effort, overall.”
