Boys swimming and diving: Bockelman picks up win for Willmar

WILLMAR — Kale Bockelman took first place in the 1-meter diving competition as Willmar fell against Sauk Rapids on Thursday, 110-71.

Bockelman, a senior, scored 228.90 points.

Willmar’s other victory came in the 400-yard freestyle relay. Jacob Loerzel, David Lammers, Soren Newberg and Evan Wallestad completed the race in 3 minutes, 37.37 seconds.

The Cardinals are 0-5 in Central Lakes Conference meets and 0-6 overall. Sauk Rapids is 3-0 in the CLC and 3-0 overall.

Willmar is host to St. Cloud Tech/Rocori at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
