Boys tennis: Litchfield knocks off Mora, 6-1

Dragons sweep doubles matches to beat the host Mustangs.

MORA — With a pair of second-set tiebreaker wins in doubles, the Litchfield boys tennis team knocked off Mora 6-1 on Tuesday.

At No. 1 doubles, the Dragons’ top duo of Braeden Olson and Tyler Pennertz beat Madox Balmer and Cael Sjodin, 6-3, 7-6 (8). Eli Schacherer and Brady Cannon emulated their teammates’ success at No. 2 doubles, beating Saul Thomson and Jonah Smart, 6-4, 7-5 (5).

In singles competition, Alex Draeger, Garrison Jackman and Nathan Wuotila all got wins for Litchfield.

The Dragons have their home opener at 4:15 p.m. Monday against the St. Cloud Crush.
