LITCHFIELD — The Litchfield boys tennis team earned a 5-2 non-conference win over the St. Cloud Tech/Apollo Crush on Monday.
Litchfield swept the singles and won at No. 1 doubles. Many of the victories were close. At No. 1, the Dragons’ Alex Draeger beat Michael Plombon 7-5, 2-6, 6-3. At No. 3, Litchfield’s Garrison Jackman defeated Jonah Atkinson 2-6, 6-2, 6-1. At No. 4, the Dragons’ Nathan Wuotila beat Charles Simon 6-3, 1-6, 7-6 (2).

Foley won the non-conference matchup over New London-Spicer at Foley.
“The boys did their best, but Foley was simply more consistent,” NLS head coach Chad Schmiesing said. “It was apparent they have had more practice time. That is the advantage of having a field house. We are hoping for better weather so that we can get some practice time.”

The Wildcats’ victories came at Nos. 1 and 2 singles. Kenneth Schmiesing beat Foley’s Riley Erkens 6-4, 6-4. And at No. 2, Jack Barney rallied to beat the Falcons’ Wyatt Harris, 4-6, 6-1 (10-6).
“Jack Barney had a great comeback win at 2 singles,” Chad Schmiesing said. “Kenneth Schmiesing was steady and outworked his opponent.”
