BELGRADE — A match-up of a pair of teams in the state rankings wound up with the Holdingford girls basketball team prevailing over Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa on Thursday night.
The Huskers, ranked No. 16 in Class AA, beat BBE, No. 7 in Class A, 68-64 in a Central Minnesota Conference game.
Holdingford’s victory ended a 10-game BBE winning streak. The Huskers are now 8-0 in the CMC. BBE is in second place at 7-2.
For the Jaguars, Abby Berge had 19 points, six rebounds and three assists. Harley Roering contributed 14 points, five rebounds and four steals. Tiyana Schwinghammer added 13 points and five rebounds,
BBE plays host to Sauk Centre at 6 p.m. Friday at Brooten in another match-up of state-ranked teams. The Mainstreeters are ranked 13th in Class AA.
