ZIMMERMAN — The Willmar girls soccer team saw its season end Wednesday night with a 4-0 loss to Zimmerman in the Section 6AA playoffs.
The third-seeded Thunder got two goals from Bella Felegy and single goals from Grace Katter and Sarah Larson to beat the sixth-seeded Cardinals.
“Tonight was a first time match-up between Zimmerman and Willmar in over five years,” Willmar head coach Rebekah Cleary said. “It was fun to play a new opponent we haven’t seen in some time.
“Zimmerman plays a fast game and turns the ball at their feet very quickly in order to attack their opponent’s goal. That’s what they did to us tonight and it worked for them.
“(The) Willmar Cardinals will continue to train and develop to be better for the future.”
