MINNEAPOLIS — Litchfield’s Isla Dille and doubles teams from Litchfield and New London-Spicer won matches Thursday at the state Class A girls tennis tournament.
Dille, an eighth-grader, won her first-round match at the Reed-Sweatt Family Tennis Center by beating Toryn Woelber of Pipestone 6-2, 6-3.
Dille then fell to Pine City’s Ella Sell 2-6, 6-4, 6-3 in the quarterfinals.
The Litchfield doubles team of Karlee Prahl and Ryanna Steinhaus defeated Hope Klanderud and Anika Haugen of Fairmont 6-2, 6-4 in the first round. Prahl and Steinhaus then lost to Elyse Palen and Caroline Daly of Rochester Lourdes 5-7, 6-2, 6-3.
New London-Spicer’s Delaney Hanson and Brooke Adelman won their first-round match over Benson/Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg’s Elise Duncan and Greta Multhauf 6-1, 6-1. Hanson and Adelman then fell in the quarterfinals to Allison Unverzagt and Sophia Lahti of Pine City, 6-1, 6-3.

Benson/KMS singles player Elle Kletscher and the Lac qui Parle Valley/Dawson-Boyd doubles team of Claire Lowry and Kayla Jahn all lost in the first round.
Lourdes won the state team title Wednesday. Litchfield earned a third-place finish.
The semifinals and finals, as well as third-place matches, are scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. Friday at the Reed-Sweatt Family Tennis Center. No West Central Tribune area players are alive heading into the semifinals.
