NEW LONDON — New London-Spicer’s Ciera Anderson won three events and the all-around during the Wildcats’ home gymnastics quadrangular on Friday.
Anderson took the top spot in the balance beam (9.2), the vault (9.05) and the uneven bars (9.0). She had an all-around total of 36.05, beating Worthington’s Olivia Barber (35.3) and Cristy Banegas (35.25).
Worthington won the meet with a team score of 138.4. NLS was second at 135.35.
“The girls had a better night tonight,” said Wildcats head coach Cindy Jacobson. “However, we were down three varsity competitors and two more with sickness. I was so proud of our younger classmen stepping in and performing great for the Wildcats. Quite a few girls had their varsity debut and they stepped up and did a fabulous job.”
