Hockey Roundup: Morris/Benson Area Storm take third place at tournament

The Storm beat host Marshall 5-3 in the Marshall Thanksgiving Classic. And, River Lakes opens its season with a 7-2 loss at Coon Rapids.

MARSHALL — The Morris/Benson Area boys hockey team beat host Marshall 5-3 in the third-place game of the Marshall Thanksgiving Classic at Red Baron Arena.

Kaleb Breuer scored a pair of goals and the Storm also received goals from Hunter LeClair, Kye Suess and Charlie Goff to sew up their first win of the season.

MBA lost to Pine City Area 7-3 on Friday night in the four-team tournament’s semifinals.

MBA plays at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Wadena-Deer Creek.

River Lakes opened the season with a non-conference loss to Coon Rapids at the Coon Rapids Ice Center.

Anthony Fink and Edwin Kramer scored goals for the Stars. Tyler Barsness had a pair of goals for Coon Rapids.

River Lakes next plays at 7 p.m. Friday against Breckenridge/Wahpeton at the Ella Stern & Harry Stern Sports Arena in Wahpeton, North Dakota.
