Nordic skiing: Willmar boys 13, girls 14th at Little Falls invite

CAMP RIPLEY — The Willmar boys Nordic ski team took 13th and the Willmar girls finished 14th at the 14-team Little Falls Invitational Thursday at Camp Ripley.

Willmar scored 22 points. Brainerd won with a 388. The Cardinals’ Timothy Halvorson had a combined pursuit time of 38 minutes, 31.2 seconds, taking 59th place. Moorhead’s Zaine Braaten finished first in 28:22.8.

In the girls’ race, Willmar scored 45 points. Brainerd also won the girls’ division with a 388. Emmie Larson was the Cardinals’ top female finisher with a combined pursuit time of 42:31 to place 49th.

The girls’ individual champion was Brainerd ninth-grader Annelise Baird, who had a time of 34:25.1.

Willmar’s next meet is the Central Lakes Conference championships at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Northland Arboretum in Brainerd.
