MINNEAPOLIS — The streak’s over, at least in jazz.
The Lac qui Parle Valley/Dawson-Boyd dance team saw its three-year reign as Class A Jazz Division champion come to an end Friday at the Target Center.
The Shadows were edged by St. Cloud Cathedral. The Crusaderettes won their first state title since 2010. The Yellow Medicine East Silhouettes finished third.
The Minnewaska Lakers and Montevideo Gold Dusters also participated in the first round of competition, but did not advance to the finals.
The Class A High Kick Division takes place at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the Target Center. LQPV/D-B is a three-time defending state champion. The Shadows compete, as does YME, Minnewaska, Montevideo, Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City and New London-Spicer.
