WILLMAR — No fewer than six Willmar athletes have been honored by the Central Lakes Conference by being named performers of the week.
Girls hockey players Chloe Lownsbury and Erin Eilers, girls basketball player Brielle Ogdahl, Nordic skier Elizabeth Haugen, gymnast Carlee Brown and wrestler Cavin Carlson received CLC honors for their performances last week.
Lownsbury, a junior forward, scored four goals in two games, including a hat trick in one to be the offensive player of the week.
Eilers, a sophomore goaltender, had 45 saves in two games, posting a 1-1 record to be the defensive player of the week.
Ogdahl averaged 9.3 rebounds in three games to be the defensive player of the week.

Haugen took fourth place at the Willmar Invitational.
Brown placed fourth on the uneven parallel bars, third in the floor exercise and fourth in the all-around.
Carlson, who was the No. 1 seed, placed first at the Hutchinson Invitational. He has a 23-3 record.

Willmar boxer wins
Francisco Celis Victoria Jr. is one of 16 athletes involved in the Willmar Golden Gloves Boxing program. The 17-year-old heavyweight won a bout on Saturday hosted by Central Minnesota Boxing in Wadena. Victoria Jr. beat super heavyweight Gavin Walz of Wadena with a third-round technical knockout.
Victoria Jr., who is 6-foot and 215 pounds, got a standing eight-count on Walz in the first round. Walz is 6-3 and 273. Victoria Jr. was coached by Willmar assistant coach Lope Navarro.
Willmar's next event is at the end of February. The team's head coach is Kirk Davis.

ACGC takes second
The Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City Falcons dance team placed second in the high kick division and eighth in the jazz division on Saturday at the New London-Spicer Invitational. Holdingford took first in kick.
Team members include: Macy Elton, Ally Giese, Brinley Grimsgard, Haley Johnson, Kaylee Keppers, Jayden Olson, Sophie Oyen, Jada Rosenquist and Gabi Shea.
Coaches are Tori Dengerud and Sloan Hedtke.
ACGC competes in the section tournament Feb. 11 in Melrose.
