WCT Sports Spotlight: Hunter Downey joins the show

NEW LONDON — West Central Tribune sports reporter Michael Lyne chats with New London-Spicer football senior running back/linebacker Hunter Downey for episode seven of the WCT Sports Spotlight Show.

The WCT Sports Spotlight Show aims to showcase one athlete a week from the West Central Area.

The Wildcats will look to punch their ticket into the Prep Bowl when they face the Watertown-Mayer Royals at 4:30 p.m. Saturday at U.S. Bank Stadium.

The two teams previously met this season. Watertown-Mayer won 38-36 on September 9.

Michael Lyne joined the West Central Tribune as a sports reporter in May 2022, following his graduation from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, where he graduated with a bachelors degree in journalism and a minor degree in Spanish studies.
