Colby Lewis pitched eight innings of three-hit baseball and the Texas Rangers beat the New York Yankees 6-1 in Game 6 to win the American League Championship Series 4-2 Friday in Arlington, Texas.
It's the first-ever AL pennant for the Rangers franchise, which moved from Washington in 1972.
Lewis struck out seven and walked three in his performance, Vladimir Guerrero had three RBI and Nelson Cruz hit a two-run home run for the Rangers, who will make their first World Series appearance Wednesday at either Philadelphia or San Francisco.
