Redwood Valley set an area record Saturday, making 17 three-point field goals in an 88-64 win over Windom Area in Southwest Conference boys basketball.
The 17 treys surpasses the Cardinals' 15 made against Jackson County Central Jan. 16, 2007, which was two years and one day from the new record.
Mike Felt, the area's leading scorer and three-point shooter, sank eight triples Saturday. Sam Knudsen nailed five, and Brian Kohler and J.T. Radel added two each. Felt led the team with 41 points.
Back in 2007, Felt also sank eight 3-pointers and paced the Cardinals with 38 points.
The state record for team three-pointers is 20, shared by three teams.
