REDWOOD FALLS -- Sam Felt threw a no-hitter with eight strikeouts in a five-inning, 10-0 win over Minneota Tuesday and Redwood Valley used a nine-run frame in its second game to beat BOLD 14-4 in the Section 3AA-North tournament to move into the section's final four.
Redwood Valley (19-3) has now won 12 straight games and will face the South's No. 2 seed, Jackson County Central, Saturday at 1 p.m. in Marshall. Win or lose, both teams will play at 2:30 p.m. in the double-elimination final four.
The Vikings' only base runner was losing pitcher Heidi Schroepfer, who reached on an infield error leading off the fifth inning.
The Cardinals got eight hits with Ashley Bunting going 3-for-3.
In the second game, the Cardinals plated four runs in the first before erupting for nine in the second. Redwood Valley sent up 14 batters to the plate in the second. BOLD walked in four runs in the second inning.
