ATWATER -- Two runs in the first inning was all Regal needed as the Eagles outlasted Cornbelt rival Atwater 2-1 Friday in amateur baseball.
Austen Hadley drew a walk to lead off the game for Regal and after advancing on a single Hadley scored on an error to give Regal a quick 1-0 lead.
Andy Hadley then singled in Chris Beier later in the inning to make it 2-0.
Atwater got its lone run in the second when Josh Cunningham scored on an error. The Chuckers left the bases loaded in the inning and also in the third.
Austen Hadley struck out nine and surrendered just three hits to pick up the win. Justin Schroeder doubled and singled to account for two of Atwater's three hits.

Michael Malvin also tossed a complete game, but was the hard-luck loser after the Chuckers stranded several runners.
Atwater had a chance to at least tie the game in the bottom of the ninth, but Regal right fielder Shane Radermacher ran down a sharply hit ball off the bat of Brian Kingery in right-center to end the game.
