The Minnesota Timberwolves are making a push to reacquire power forward Kevin Garnett from the Brooklyn Nets ahead of Thursday afternoon's trade deadline, according to ESPN.com.
Sources told ESPN.com that the sides have engaged in serious discussions on the deal that would send forward Thaddeus Young to Brooklyn for the former Wolves star, which would require Garnett's approval even if the teams agree before Thursday's 3 p.m. ET deadline. Garnett possesses one of the NBA 's six full no-trade clauses.
Garnett has insisted in recent weeks that he is not in the market for an in-season exit from Brooklyn because he does not wish to displace his family ?in the middle of the season.

According to the report, the Wolves are hopeful that the chance to play out what might be his final NBA season as a member of the team that drafted him out of high school in 1995 could lead Garnett to reconsider.
Another stumbling block could be that Garnett would be leaving the Eastern Conference playoff race to join a team at the bottom of the West.
The Timberwolves selected Garnett with the fifth overall pick in the 1995 NBA draft and had him for 12 seasons before dealing the best player in franchise history to Boston in 2007.
