Ridgewater turns back Minn. West

WORTHINGTON -- The Ridgewater volleyball team finished the first half of its MCAC Southern Division schedule with a 25-19, 25-20, 24-26, 25-15 win over Minnesota West Wednesday.

WORTHINGTON -- The Ridgewater volleyball team finished the first half of its MCAC Southern Division schedule with a 25-19, 25-20, 24-26, 25-15 win over Minnesota West Wednesday.

The Lady Warriors went 4-1 in the first swing through the division and are 12-4 overall.

"We didn't play up to our potential until midway through Game 4," said coach Joe Sussenguth. "Minnesota West has some strong, tall hitters. We made a better commitment to defense in the fourth game."

Ridgewater had a .277 kill percentage as a team.

Karrie Blommel led the way with 15 kills on 35-of-37 attempts. Leah Miller had 13 kills (23 of 26), served four aces and had 16 digs. Molly Miller also had four ace serves. Carina Fesenmaier added 40 assists and three ace blocks, Jordan Olerud had three ace blocks, seven kills and 16 digs.
