River Lakes can't make up early deficit vs. Brainerd

RICHMOND -- Grant Thompson scored twice and assisted on a third goal after River Lakes fell behind in the game but the Stars couldn't make up the deficit and fell 6-3 to Brainerd in a Central Lakes Conference game on Tuesday.

Brainerd, led by Gavin and Mitch Andres, scored four first-period goals.

After Thompson helped close the gap to a goal in the third period, Eric Stout scored his second goal of the game to make it 5-3, and teammate Matt Fischer scored an empty net goal to ice it.

Nikolai Jenson scored the Stars’ other goal.
