Six area wrestlers reach state final round

The final round of the Class A and AAA wrestling state finals will feature six local grapplers, two of whom will be facing each other.

In the A 220-pound class, reigning champion Manuel Garcia of BOLD will defend his title against Karter VanHeuveln of KMS.

Garcia advanced by winning a 9-2 semifinal decision over Teddy Dehler of Piers, while VanHeuveln won 3-2 against previously unbeaten Tyler Oberg of Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton.

Elsewhere in Class A, NLS' Thomas Stageberg advanced via a 7-5 decison over Ryan Elias of Adrian.

In AAA, three Willmar wrestlers advanced to the final round.

Cael Carlson squeaked out a 1-0 victory over Curtis LeMair of Prior Lake in 113. 

Colten Carlson and Brady Reigstad advanced with pins in the 160 and 285 respectively. Carlson took down Emmett Wagner of Shakopee in 5:32, while Reigstad needed just 1:24 to dispense of Aaron Moore of Minnetonka.
