ST. CLOUD — A goal by Ella Shinn with less than two minutes left in the first half got Willmar on the board on the way to the Central Lakes Conference victory at Apollo’s Michie Field.

The Cardinals then scored three goals in the first five minutes of the second half to put it away.

“Tonight, we definitely had to find our footing in the first half,” Willmar head coach Amanda Broman said. “That first goal was a big deal for us.”

Broman credited her seniors for the dominant victory. That includes Sammy Chrisoffer, Ellary Lange, Shinn, Ella Swenson and Jaida Reiman.

“We’ve got a core group of girls who are really important for their leadership,” Broman said. “All five are four-year varsity players.
