Willmar 4,

Capitalizing on fielding and pitching woes by Marshall, Willmar had a three-run bottom of the third inning that made the difference in a 4-2 non-conference win on Thursday.

Up 1-0 after a bases-loaded walk by Callie Slagter in the second, the Cardinals tacked on three more when Mackenzie Jones scored on an error by the catcher, Edyn Saulsbury scored on a passed ball and Slagter drew another bases-loaded walk.

The visiting Tigers got on the board in the top of the sixth when a fielding error allowed Lenei Estrada to reach home. Then in the seventh, Aubrey Bjella hit a single that let Brenna Springborg score from second. But with runners on second and third base, Jones got out of the jam by striking out Kayla Polejewski and coaxing a fly ball for the final out.

Jones went the distance for Willmar, striking out 14 with no walks while improving her record to 4-0.
