RAYMOND — The Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg softball team swept a doubleheader from MACCRAY on Friday.

KMS beat its Camden Conference opponent 8-3 and 15-3 in five innings. It was MACCRAY’s season-opener.

In Game 1, Lauren Krieger got the complete-game win for KMS. She struck out four and walked two, allowing eight hits and three earned runs.

In Game 2, Maret Gjerde, Krieger and Shakira Olson all had two hits for the Fighting Saints. Krieger doubled and Olson tripled.

Madison Anderson got the complete-game win, going all five innings. She struck out seven and walked three, allowing three hits and three earned runs.

Alison Koenen slugged a two-run homer in the third inning for MACCRAY in Game 2.

KMS scored six runs in the first inning on two hits and three Wolverine errors, then added five in the third on two hits and three more MACCRAY errors. The Wolverines made eight errors in total in Game 2.
