The St. Cloud State University men's basketball run in the NCAA Division II Elite Eight tournament came to an end Thursday with a 76-70 loss to Indiana (Pa.) University in the national semifinals in Springfield, Mass.
Taylor Witt, a junior guard from Morris, scored 16 points on 7-of-29 shooting from the field after leading SCSU with 43 points in the quarterfinals Wednesday. Witt, who also broke an NCAA free-throw record in that game, made 1 of 2 from the charity stripe against Indiana.
Matt Schenk led the Huskies with 29 points and 17 rebounds. Schenk and Witt were the only two SCSU players to play all 40 minutes.
