The New London-Spicer boys basketball team opens the Class AA Minnesota State Boys Basketball Tournament against top-seed Annandale at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Target Center.
The Wildcats earned their spot in the tournament with a 70-59 win over Melrose in the Section 6AA final on Friday at St. Cloud State University.
Following Annandale, the top seeds are No. 2 Esko, No. 3 Fairmont, No. 4 Caledonia and No. 5 St. Paul Academy. Joining the Wildcats as unseeded entrants are St. Peter and East Grand Forks.
Esko and East Grand Forks play at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Williams Arena and Fairmont plays St. Peter at 8 p.m. Wednesday at Williams.
Following the NLS-Annandale game, Caledonia takes on St. Paul Academy at 8 p.m. Wednesday at Target Center.
