State Tennis: Litchfield to play for Class A championship

MINNEAPOLIS -- The Litchfield girls tennis team will play The Blake School for the Class A championship after a 6-1 semifinals victory over St. James on Wednesday at the Minnesota State Girls Tennis Tournament.

MINNEAPOLIS -- The Litchfield girls tennis team will play The Blake School for the Class A championship after a 6-1 semifinals victory over St. James on Wednesday at the Minnesota State Girls Tennis Tournament.

The Dragons play Blake for the title at 4 p.m. today at the Reed-Sweatt Family Tennis Center.

Blake advanced with a 7-0 semifinals victory over Rochester Lourdes on Wednesday.

Against St. James, the Dragons got wins from Shanna Kinny, Elise Bierbaum, Avery Stilwell and Alyssa Ross in singles. The doubles teams of Laney Huhner and Vaida Behnke, and Ryanna Steinhaus and Britney Prahl scored Litchfield's other points.
