ST. PAUL-Four Willmar wrestlers will wrestling in semifinals matches today and four other area wrestlers also earned berths in final four matches at the Minnesota State Wrestling Tournament on Friday at the Xcel Energy Center.
Heading into today's matches, 20 of the 40 Tribune-area wrestlers are still alive in the winners and consolation brackets after Friday's individual tournament opening-round matches.
Consolation matches and semifinals begin Saturday morning and championship matches in the three classes commence at 6:30 p.m.
In Class AAA, Willmar's Israel Navarro, who earned a third-place finish last year, won two matches at 120 pounds on Friday and takes on Anoka's Colby Njos in the semifinals.
At 126, Cael Carlson, a second-place finisher last year, won twice Friday and faces Sartell's Rylee Molitor in today's semis.

Clay Carlson at 132 won twice and gets Hopkins' Nate Johnson in the semifinals, and Brady Reigstad took his two matches and wrestles Anoka's Brandon Frankfurth in the semis.
In Class AA, New London-Spicer 182-pounder Josh Soine recorded a pin and a major decision to earn a shot in the semis against Zumbrota-Mazeppa's Caden Steffen.
Also in Class AA, United 152-pounder Peyton Mortenson won twice and wrestles Simley's Anthony Jackson today in the semifinals.
BBE has two wrestlers sporting unblemished records heading into Class A final four matches today.
Tyler Bents at 126 earned two decisions to get a shot at Jake Nohre of West Central Area/Ashby/Brandon-Evansville in today's semifinals.
His Jaguars teammate Adam Jaeger also won two decisions Friday and takes on Chatfield's Jake Mandt in today's semis.
