T-Hawks rebound

CLARA CITY- Travis Dreyer scored 22 points, Riley Emery chipped in 18 points and Montevideo capitalized on an impressive first half to cruise to a 82-58 over MACCRAY on Friday night.

The Thunder Hawks rebounded from a triple-overtime loss to Morris/Chokio-Alberta the night before, shooting 54 percent from the field and made 15 of 20 free throw attempts.

Montevideo, now 4-7, plays host to ACGC at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

MACCRAY fell to 4-9 overall and returns to Camden Conference play at KMS at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.

Emery scored 10 first-half points to lead the Thunder Hawks, who used an efficient offensive effort pulled out to a 44-23 lead at halftime.

Playing at MACCRAY High School, the two score remained tight through the opening action, with Montevideo holding a 17-13 lead before guard Isaac Hoogeveen hit two 3-pointers to spark a personal 8-0 run that put the Thunder Hawks up 25-13.

From there, it was all Montevideo.

Colton Swart scored 21 points to lead the Wolverines and Brady Madsen added 13 points.

MACCRAY shot 41 percent from the field and hit seven 3-pointers.
