Tennis: Willmar succumbs to Alexandria, 4-3

ALEXANDRIA -- A back-and-forth Central Lakes Conference girls tennis match went Alexandria's way as the Cardinals upended the visiting Cardinals of Willmar 4-3 Thursday.

ALEXANDRIA -- A back-and-forth Central Lakes Conference girls tennis match went Alexandria's way as the Cardinals upended the visiting Cardinals of Willmar 4-3 Thursday.

Alexandria took three points in singles and collected another point at 2-doubles. Willmar's lone point in singles was Carrie Boike's 2½-hour 6-3, 6-4 marathon win at No. 2. Willmar's 1-doubles team of Megan Rudie and Betsy Vomacka and 3-doubles team of Abby Kack and Alex Linbo also won.

Willmar hosts Sartell on Tuesday in another CLC match.
