BRAINERD — While going 3-1 in singles play, Willmar wasn’t able to get a ‘W’ in doubles play as host Brainerd escaped with a 4-3 Central Lakes Conference victory on Monday to stay undefeated in conference play.

At No. 2 singles, Ashely Prahl battled through a tough first set with the Warriors’ Kate Chaussee before pulling away in the second set to get the victory, 7-6, 6-1. Then at No. 4 singles, Allison Bruhn rebounded from a first-set loss to beat Ella Chaussee in a third-set, super-tiebreaker, 1-6, 7-6, 10-3.

The Cardinals return home on Tuesday to take on Sartell in a CLC dual meet.
